Design Description:
The ‘Never Full’ series is based on insights into the 2019 Amazon rainforest fire, depicting the ‘corrosion’ of soybeans on jewellery, which shows a metaphor for the conflict between human desires and natural resources, and also calling for reflection on the coexistence between human and nature. The monumentality of the metal reinforces the theme, while the wearability of the jewelry highlights the vital role of the individual in the destiny of humanity. Taking the Baroque and Rococo mirror frame as a prototype, referring to the symbolic meaning of the mirror in literature — about people's choice between reality and illusion. Using the contrast between the romantic, solid metal elements of the baroque frame and the absent, empty mirror, the void erodes the metal frame at the same time, thereby stimulating the self-examination of the wearer and the viewer.
