Ruining Shi

Influenced by Eastern aesthetics, Ruining Shi exhibits a profound interest in the nuances of things, the white space, and the relationship between the nihility and Existence. The negative space created by hollowing techniques in Ruining Shi's works is perceptible yet elusive, demonstrating the interactive transformation between tangible and intangible elements. This promotes the interaction between the wearer and her works, extending boundless emotions and imagination through the application of shadows.

At the same time, Ruining Shi's works also focuses on the material research. She combines iron with other metals and creates new texture by integrating the characteristics of different materials with the traditional coloring techniques.

Ruining Shi, born in Liaoning in 1996, is currently pursuing a doctorate at Tokyo University of the Arts, while also creating jewelry.
