'THE NEW CRAFTS’ international traveling Exhibition is an international & invitation exhibition continuously hosted by the Academy of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University since 2015, dedicated to the inheritance and innovation of traditional crafts, showcasing the highest level and latest trends of contemporary international arts and crafts. Since 2015, "Salary Skills" has been held in three countries and six cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Bangladesh, and Changchun, showcasing excellent arts and crafts works from dozens of countries and over a hundred art schools around the world, covering multiple categories such as ceramics, metals, fibers, lacquer art, and glass. The exhibition will implement the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visit to Tsinghua University on "better serving the high-quality living needs of the people with art achievements" and "using beauty as a medium to strengthen international cultural exchanges" through practical actions, further enhancing the influence of China's arts and crafts in the international academic community and developing into an influential brand exhibition in the international arts and crafts industry. In 2024, 'THE NEW CRAFTS’ project was once again approved as a national art fund communication and promotion exchange project, and will be exhibited on a tour at the National Centre for the Performing Arts and Anhui Academy of Arts.
