Raise the curtain! Exhibited works of BR gallery at have attracted much attention in COLLECT 2023

On March 1st, 2023, COLLECT 2023 International Contemporary Craft and Design Fair opened at Somerset House in London, UK. After four years of planning and preparation from 2019 to the present day, BR gallery presented the artistic works of 12 of China's top contemporary metal artists at the fair. The aim is to promote Chinese contemporary metal art on the world stage, learn from more mature international market systems, and inspire the international development of contemporary metal art in China.








On the first day of the exhibition, the exhibition area of BR gallery attracted attention from various parties, including the official organizers of COLLECT 2023 in the UK, the British contemporary metal art industry, and academic institutions.


Simon Fraser, Director of Jewelry, Ceramics, and Furniture Department at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, former Head of Birmingham School of Jewelry Norman Cherry, Jonathan Boyd, Head of Jewelry and Metal Art Department at the Royal Academy of Art in the UK, former editor of Craft Magazine and tutor in Art History at the Royal Academy of Art, Martina Margetts, Stuart Martin Bannocks, Director of the Design Department at the London Goldsmiths College, British jewelry artist and Jerwood Applied Art Award winner Lin Cheung, metal artists Rebecca de Quin, Adi Toch, Jane Adam, and others have highly praised the exhibited works of BR gallery at COLLECT 2023. They believe that the works not only showcase the tradition of Chinese metal art, but also demonstrate a keen contemporary artistic perspective. The collective appearance of Chinese artists at COLLECT 2023 is of milestone significance.











BR gallery received strong promotion from the organizers of COLLECT 2023, and their exhibited works were featured multiple times on official social media platforms such as collectartfair and Somerset House.






On the first day of the exhibition, the works exhibited by BR Gallery were highly sought after by collectors, and two artists' works were collected. Among them, the artwork " Banquet" by artist Zhang Yu was collected by the National Museum of Ireland, and the artwork "Yan Yi" by artist Zhang Fan was collected by a private collector.

With various opportunities, challenges, and uncertainties, BR gallery taken a key step for contemporary Chinese metal art to reach the top international art fair, COLLECT 2023. Tomorrow, BR gallery will participate in an academic dialogue about contemporary jewelry as the only invited exhibitor by the COLLECT organizing committee, along with Joanna Hardy, a renowned British writer, independent boutique jewelry consultant, antique expert, and international lecturer.
